Increasingly, no — redaction and privacy services mask individuals' details across much of the namespace. Registrar, dates and status remain visible; identity behind commercial domains often shows via the site itself rather than WHOIS.
Why does WHOIS accuracy matter for my own domain?
The underlying registrant record (even when masked publicly) governs disputes, transfers and recovery — inaccurate details can void a registration or lose you a domain in a challenge. Mask publicly, but keep the record true.
