MySQL or MariaDB — does the difference matter to me?
For hosted applications, virtually never — MariaDB is a compatible fork and the apps speak to both identically. The name on the label matters less than the disk underneath it and the indexes inside it.
How do I back up a MySQL database?
Panel backups include databases; phpMyAdmin exports produce a portable .sql file; WP-CLI and cron can automate dumps. Any of the three — the sin is only having none, or never test-restoring the one you have.
Will you move my existing website for free?
