Who can register a .eu domain?
Anyone resident in the EU or EEA, and that takes in Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. Organisations and companies established there qualify too. So do EU citizens wherever they happen to live, a route opened so expatriate Europeans keep their access to the extension.
After Brexit, what became of UK-held .eu domains?
Registrants based in the UK lost eligibility overnight unless something else qualified them: EU citizenship, say, or an establishment sitting inside the EU/EEA. Nothing demonstrates more clearly that the rules on .eu get enforced. Check that your qualifying basis will hold up before you build a business on it.
